Ram Navami is celebrated after Navratri festival with great enthusiasm. The day of Ram Navami is celebrated as the birthday of the Lord Ram, one of the most loved deities in the Hindu pantheon. It is considered auspicious to undertake a fast on the day in the name of Rama. Lord Ram's dynasty considered himself to have descended from the Sun. Therefore the celebrations on Ram Navami festival begin early morning by praying to the Sun.
Ram Navami 2012 date is on 1st April. At the time of Ram Navami festival many devotees visit to Ayodhya, Ujjain and Rameshwaram. In Rameshwaram, people take a ritual bath in the sea before worshipping at the Ramanathaswamy temple.
