They grow to be about 6 inches excluding their long tail. Boys are more easy going..okie a bit lazy than girls and then to grow bigger, while the girls remain active.
They are very intelligent, and are much more fascinating compared to mice or hamsters.
Fancy rats are sociable so its ideal to get a pair of boys or girls to keep each other company. Fancy rats can be safely kept in a tall spacious wire cage with horizontal bars ( bar spacing should be less than half-an-inch to prevent escape)
